LET HIM HELP YOU (Rely On The Lord’s Help Only)
TO THE BIBLE Psalm 50:15 TLB “I want you to trust me in your times of trouble, so I can rescue you and you can give me glory.”
LET’S TALK There’s a very interesting story about King Hezekiah in 2 Kings 20. He had become very sick and soon got some rather disturbing news from the Prophet Isaiah about his health. It was a death sentence! Rather than giving up or becoming melancholy, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to God. He praised and thanked God and prophesied: “It is the living who praise you, as I praise you now. Parents tell their children how faithful you are. Lord, you have healed me. We will play harps and sing your praise, sing praise in your Temple as long as we live” (Isaiah 38:19-20 GNB). God heard him, reversed the sentence and added fifteen more years to his life!
There’re times you’ll find yourself faced with a challenging situation. What if you went for a routine checkup and were diagnosed with a terrible illness? At that point, rather than complain or wallow in self-pity, praise God for His healing power in your body. Declare His Word about your situation.
Remember that He is ever willing and delighted to hear your voice and answer your prayers. The Bible says, “For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers…” (1 Peter 3:12). So, let Him be your first recourse, and you can call on Him today and always.
GO DEEPER Psalms 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. :2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. :3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. :4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. :5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. :6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. :7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. :8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
PRAY Dear Father, I thank you for being my source and help. I’m full of confidence and assurance in my heart, knowing that you’re more than willing to help me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
