MEDITATE! (Use Your Words To Drive The Word Into Your Spirit)

TO THE BIBLE Joshua 1:8 NIV “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

LET’S TALK Some of John’s classmates thought him a weird dude, because of the way he talked to himself all the time. But there was no denying the fact that he was the best student in the class and somehow still managed to excel in sports, debates, drama, and anything else he got into.

“So what’s it you’re always muttering to yourself?” Newton quizzed him, “I’m sure that’s your secret.”

“It sure is, and it’s called MEDITATION,” John responded with swag.

The word “meditate” in Joshua 1:8 is translated from the Hebrew word “hagah,” which means “to ruminate, mutter, or say under one’s voice”; “to say something to yourself over and over again.” Thus, in meditating on the Word, you ponder upon a Scripture, and mutter it to yourself continuously.

You may want something, and everything around you is telling you how impossible it is to have. However, the Word says, “The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need” (Psalm 23:1 GNB) and “...my God will liberally supply...your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 AMPC). When you meditate on such scriptures, you begin to say to yourself, “My God lavishly supplies all my needs; therefore, there’s no lack in my life! I have everything I need, in the Name of Jesus!”

As you talk like this, you drive the Word deep into your spirit, where it mixes with faith; and suddenly, the challenges that previously looked insurmountable become a walkover for you!

GO DEEPER Luke 1:37 AMPC For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

PRAY Dear heavenly Father, my spirit is open right now to receive the Word of your grace that heals, transforms, renews, strengthens, and changes hopeless situations. I choose to spend time with you in fellowship, as I meditate on your Word day and night, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
