TRUE SATISFACTION (Real Contentment And Rest In God)

TO THE BIBLE Hebrews 4:10 AMPC

“For he who has once entered [God’s] rest also has ceased from [the weariness and pain] of human labors, just as God rested from those labors peculiarly His own.”

LET’S TALK

Matt’s desire for self-fulfillment caused him to engage in all kinds of adrenaline-pumping, thrill-seeking activities. He also thought he could find it in his friends, so he went out of his way to make lots of them. But he kept going around in circles without getting the satisfaction he wanted. This is the story of many people’s lives, because they haven’t understood that true satisfaction comes from God.

This comes when everything you do and desire in life lines up with God’s desires for you. Remember, when you gave your heart to Christ, you accepted Him as Lord of your life. This means He’s Lord over all that concerns you, including your choices and decisions. In other words, He has the final say in your life.

To operate from this position of contentment and rest, you’ve got to acknowledge God in all you do. Before you go about setting goals and plans for your life, ask God what He would have you do. You’ll discover that when you follow this path, you’ll always experience peace and true satisfaction!

GO DEEPER

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. :6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Philippians 4:7 MSG Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

SPEAK

Jesus is Lord of my life; He is Lord over my choices, desires, plans, and purposes. As a result, I operate from a position of rest and satisfaction always.
